Break for Ball Sponsors GAA Celebrity Fight Night

On Saturday the 17th of January, Dromintee GAC of South Armagh, staged a Fight Night in the Carrickdale Hotel, in front of a staggering 1500 supporters.

PAddy Bradley and Aiden O RourkeThe fighters included All-Stars from Derry and Armagh, Former Australian Rules players, International Rules players, and Ireland’s highest profile football referee. The most anticipated bout of the night was between former Derry All-Star Paddy ‘Buster’ Bradley and Ex-Armagh player and All-Ireland winner Aidan ‘Atomic’ O’Rourke. This was a cagey affair that ended in a points victory for the Armagh and Dromintee native, O’Rourke.

Laois man, Colm Begley just back from a career in Aussie Rules, donned the gloves as did Kevin Dyas (also just back from two years in the AFL) of Armagh. Derry captain Gerard ‘Golden Boy’ O’Kane was in action, as was International Rules player Aidan Carr and St. Gall’s maestro Kevin McGourty. Charismatic referee Pat McEneaney showed that age has no boundaries, as he took on a man almost half his age.
